March 3: Carnival of Alaior.
This celebration features costumes and dancing that involve the entire municipality. Also, the parade of floats is one of the main attractions offered by this holiday. On the other hand, competition from troupes and burial of Carnestoltes are two good alternatives to witness while you participate in this carnival. One thing that is very peculiar and vital at the time of referring to this event is that is linked to its origin. Here it is stated that the carnival revolves around Bernat Figuerola. This character according to legend, flew to America to seek his fortune, leaving behind the city of his birth. However, every year Bernat returns to it and despite being very ill, is responsible for conducting all activities of the Carnival. Already in his last days and suspecting his forthcoming death, Bernat writes an ironic testament that is read in the square. Finally, after his death, this character disappears into the flames of a large bonfire. It is here when you move on to Lent.

Easter Processions in Menorca.
This is marked by processions.They take to the streets to renew their faith and to recreate the last days of Christ on earth. On this island more generally, all the celebrations that take place have an origin and a medieval tradition. It all begins on Palm Sunday when we celebrate Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Finally, the Easter celebrations end with Easter Sunday. On this date, all the towns around Menorca celebrate the rebirth of Jesus. To represent this fact there is a traditional procession of "Find," which portrays the risen Christ and his encounter with his mother, Mary.

Easter Sunday: Matances of Bujots in Ciutadella.
This celebration is characterized by the time that is already being celebrated. It is a tradition in this Spanish town to carry it out. However it is very curious in the eyes of foreign visitors, on the streets they hang dolls of several famous characters. It is noteworthy that the word bujots refers to any individual lacking personality. So, to criticize any mistake of the political class is conducted in the Matances Bujots. As such, any kind of criticism can be a reason for someone to be within the list of bujots. Regarding its origin, not much is known, although it is understood that the habit is to get a doll and walk with it around the town . After the tour they are burned in the Placa des Born. Furthermore, it is not known what it means. Some assume that to criticize what is wrong with society, but also its thought it was a way of completing Lent. A number of associations that already have a doll they keep it and do not show anyone until they can be hung on the street. Later,when they put the dolls in the streets, they shoot a lot of bullets made with a stopper and a little powder. There are four hunters that perform the shots shot discharging their guns firing into the straw dolls. This particular tradition starts at noon, delaying about ten minutes to drop the puppet of straw to the soil and after onto the fire and the ritual is finished. For many, after this celebration, the people of Menorca are purified and drive out the negative omens.
